I Love Dick
When Chris Kraus, an unsuccessful artist pushing 40, spends an evening with a rogue academic named Dick, she falls madly and inexplicably in love, enlisting her husband in her haunted pursuit. Dick proposes a kind of game between them, but when he fails to answer their letters Chris continues alone, transforming an adolescent infatuation into a new form of philosophy.
Queer Dramaturgies
Starting from the premise that live performance is experienced in a material, local context, the chapters analyse the intricate and complex workings of queer dramaturgy within specific venues, cities, nations or transnationally.
Spent
An ongoing series of auto-drawings exploring libidinal economies and sexual desire. Started in 2009, these works (which will continue for the rest of McKenzie's life) are made by the artist orgasming onto Universal Litmus paper, the results being meticulously recorded not only visually but also in terms of the date and time that they were 'composed'.
