This Zine was produced as an accompaniment to Playing With Fire- live reading from survivor writers- an online event on April 24th 2021 hosted by Live Art Development Agency.
This story is a product of lockdown, of not being able to create gatherings and experiences with, and for, other people. It is an account of intensely personal histories and experiences, that usually stay behind the screens. It is also a document of the Heteraclub project and the safe space created there, in which hundreds of women shared their stories of love and pleasure.
A Way Away uses the mode of correspondence course to explore ideas around distance – spatial and temporal, physical and social, imagined and real.
Veganism, Sex and Politics explores the potential dangers and irresistible pleasures of living a vegan life.
Structural Violence seeks to redraw the conventional map of violence against women. In order to understand violence as a fundamentally heterogeneous phenomenon, it is essential to go beyond interpersonal partner violence and analyse the workings of institutional and structural violence.
This publication presents a web of information: the artist’s own statements- essentially descriptions and photographs of her pieces, comments and an interview- together with contributions from different authors on various aspects of Muda Mathis’ work.
