Artist at Work, Proximity of Art and Capitalism

Video documentation of ‘Passion Play’, an event curated and presented by Daniel Oliver, in collaboration with Access All Areas and LADA, on 1st August, 2025 at The Garrett Centre.

Included in the footage is: performances by graduating and former students from Access All Area’s ‘Performance Making Diploma’: Bruno De Ceita Pedro, Jacob Dean, Claire Dunbar, and George Webb, an introduction from Oliver and Dean, and a Q&A.

The event was funded through the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama’s knowledge exchange funding.

Video documentation of an online artist conversation with  Rosalind Fowler, Isik Sayarer and Eva Knutsdotter  in December 2021. This conversation followed an online screening of BREADROCK, I feel like doing this, a film by artist collective Fourthland (Isik Sayarer and Eva Knutsdotter) and artist and filmmaker Rosalind Fowler.

BREADROCK, I feel like doing this is a visceral homage to cultural history, memory and universal myth.  Melding experimental and ethnographic filmmaking, the work presents a series of staged vignettes drawing on the rituals and artefacts of the Estate’s Bangladeshi, European, Kurdish, Serbian, Turkish, Ugandan and West Indian communities, to create new kinships, myths and culture.

Featuring editors Brian Getnick and Tanya Rubbak, and contributors Chris Freeman, Alexandra Juhasz, Sheree Rose, Marcus Kuiland-Nazario, Ruben Esparza and Philip Littell, for a wider discussion about AIDS, performance art and crisis.

NS, the performance art journal of Los Angeles, is a 6 volume archive of performance art production in LA from 2011 to 2016.

Audio documentation of an evening considering durational performance art with Marilyn Arsem on Friday 18th April, 2025 at The Garrett Centre.

For this special event, Marilyn presented an artist talk reflecting on her body of work and sharing her research on performance art and time. Following the talk, there was a Q&A chaired by curator Joseph Morgan Schofield.

This event was part of CEREMONY: A Festival of Performance, presented by Future Ritual, in April, 2025.
