East End Collaboration 2009 Call

Queen Mary, University of London and the Live Art Development Agency are seeking proposals from graduates and emerging artists working with Live Art in London for East End Collaborations Platform 2009.

East End Collaborations (EEC) is a partnership between Queen Mary, University of London and the Live Art Development Agency offering a number of support structures for graduates and young artists working with Live Art and based in London.

2009 is the 10th anniversary of both EEC and the Live Art Development Agency, and to celebrate this EEC 2009 will be a special event providing an opportunity to look back on EEC highlights and achievements over the last ten years, and to look forward to the start of a new era of Live Art residencies and activities at Queen Mary.

Alongside the Platform there will be special presentations by ten artists who have taken part in EEC over the last decade, and an anniversary edition of the information and advice day Everything You Wanted To Know About Live Art But Were Afraid To Ask.

The EEC Platform is aimed at artists who are at the beginning of their practice and have made at least one professionally presented piece of Live Art. The Platform is an opportunity for artists to introduce their practice to audiences, peers, and promoters, and to participate in a feedback session on Sunday 7 June where there will be practical advice and critical responses over brunch from artists, curators, and performance students and scholars from Queen Mary.

The Platform will take place in a range of performance and installation spaces at Queen Mary, University of London, and participating artists will be selected on an open submission basis.

Artists wishing to present their work in the EEC Platform should submit a written proposal with a completed EEC application by 20 April 2009 at the very latest.
