A reckless retreat exploring the possibilities of audaciousness culminating in a strictly one-off performance

What does it mean to be radical – for each of us personally and in the world right now? What makes a performance act gutsy or reckless and how might that change depending on the artist, audience or context? What can audaciousness achieve or provoke? How can artists come together and form fast bonds to create a savagely encouraging space for recklessness?
What would you do if you knew you would never ever do it again?
Locating your own audaciousness is a four day intensive retreat for experienced performance makers to break themselves into more audacious practices.
We'll spend three days away from the noise of the city. We'll review all of our previous work, smashing out of our set artistic 'characters' and wading into more unusual territory, goading each other to do something reckless.
Then we'll run fast into 'ONE NIGHT ONLY' a night of public performance back in the city, in which participants perform an act they will only ever do once and never again.
This DIY is for self-defined experienced artists who have made work before.
Applications are invited via the link below, and will ask for reflections on your practice, on the term 'radical', and on the most audacious thing you've ever done. You will also be asked to look forward: writing copy for the show you are least likely to ever make, and considering what would embolden you to make more reckless artistic choices.

Rachel Mars is a performer and writer. Her work interrogates the idiosyncratic cultural and political constructs that inform the way we operate together.
Greg Wohead is a writer, performer and live artist originally from Texas. He makes theatre performances, one-to-one pieces and audio work. His practice veers between writing and actions, hilarity and disgust, things that are obvious and things that are left unsaid.
Greg and Rachel’s collaborative work including a performance called Story #1 revolves around the radical possibilities of narrative.
