Take 6

Illuminations TV, who have a long history in producing arts documentaries for Channel 4 and BBC2 and multi-media projects, established Artsonline in November 2000, the first major arts website for Britain funded by the Arts Council.

To contribute to the launch of Artsonline, Illuminations invited the Live Art Development Agency to commission 6 new short sound pieces, Take 6 , which appeared on the site on the 1 and 2 January 2001 and remained there for 30 days.

The Take 6 artists were: desperate optimists, Gary Stevens, Joshua Sofaer, Ansuman Biswas, Ronald Fraser-Munro, and Deborah Levy.
