‘Let’s be candid — solidarity has become a buzzword that is too often performative and not backed by structural or organisational change. Art+Feminism is on our own journey of learning how we can centre and nurture solidarity that transcends words on a page and hashtags on social media.’
– Art+Feminism on their 2024 campaign Solidarity! Solidarity. Solidarity?: We’re (not) all in this together!
Join us at the LADA Study room, on Tuesday 30 April 2024 from 12noon to 5pm for an all-day communal editing and creation of Wikipedia entries that speak to the theme of solidarity and explore its artistic manifestations. We will use material from the Study Room, as well as online resources, academic articles, books and any other sources we can get our hands on.
Please feel free to come for the whole day or drop in for an hour. We will give an introduction at the start of the session as well as after the lunch break, but there will be people on hand to support you and help you get started whenever you arrive.
If you want to get involved with advance preparation of suggested entries for artists or organisations, materials to work from, or planning and organisation, please get in touch!
Please bring your laptop, power cord, and make sure to create a Wikipedia account before the event.
