Tara Fatehi Irani is a multidisciplinary artist, writer and researcher working with fabricated histories, fictionalised facts, mistranslated memories and unattended archives.
Tara's doctoral research at the University of Roehampton, London, a (practice-led) research project is supported by LADA. She explores how family archives and performance can animate each other and look at non-conventional, anti-preservational approaches to archives that can nourish new accounts of history.
Tara has written an article for Exuent about her year-long project, Mishandled Archive, making 365 performance-installations which shared micro-histories from her family archive from Tehran, the first piece being made at LADA on 1 January 2017.
