In light of the ongoing and urgent change of circumstances across the arts, culture and entertainment industries, the print run for Vanishing Points will now be distributed on a pay-what-you-can basis in order to support a discretionary fund for artists and arts workers of colour working in Live Art. All proceeds from the sales will go to towards the fund and the process will be managed by the Diverse Actions Project Managers and Steering Group.

A free version of the publication is available digitally. Additionally, anyone who chooses to make a £5/£10/£15/£20/£25 donation to the discretionary fund will receive a physical copy of the title when Unbound resumes normal service.

Vanishing Points

Vanishing Points is a new anthology of cultural criticism, focusing on the making, watching and conditions of Live Art and performance in the UK today. Vanishing Points is edited by Salome Wagaine, with deputy editors Ava Wong Davies and Ben Kulvichit, and designed by Chani Wisdom.

The book features contributions from Ava Wong Davies, Zarina Muhammad, Ben Kulvichit, Season Butler, Jack Tan, Salome Wagaine, Marjorie H Morgan, Rajni Shah, Selina Thompson and Dr Cecilia Wee.

It is co-published by LADA and Diverse Actions, a Live Art UK initiative, championing cultural diversity in the sector and marks the final point of three years of activity. Supported by an Arts Council England Ambition for Excellence grant, Diverse Actions is managed by Cambridge Junction on behalf of Live Art UK.

About Diverse Actions

Diverse Actions was a three-year initiative, supported through Arts Council England’s Ambition for Excellence fund, championing culturally diverse ambition, excellence and talent in Live Art.

Building on the existing work and practice within the Live Art sector but to enable a step-change and lasting impact, Diverse Actions sought to respond to the needs of artists of colour working in Live Art through: professional development opportunities that were fit-for-purpose and not formulaic or tokenistic; longer-term and better resourced opportunities to develop and present high quality and ambitious work, and to build relationships with venues, festivals and presenters; increased leadership by practitioners of colour to ensure legacy in the sector; increased knowledge and visibility of Live Art and practices by artists of colour in the wider arts sector.
