Playing With Space

An evening of performance films curated by Lawrence Bradby
Wednesday 25 March 2015
White Building, Hackney Wick, London
7pm
Free, but reservation essential

Artists: why wait for your performance to be selected by a gallery? Why not put your work on show right now, by performing in the street?

Playing With Space is a touring film programme that celebrates artists who have done just this, making guerrilla interventions, granting themselves the right to make their own work public.

Sixteen different performance works will be represented in short films by artists from England, Wales, Austria, the USA, Central America and Africa: Dyad Creative, Destino Dance, Alice Gale-Feeny, Tehching Hsieh, Riccardo Iacono, Paul R Jones, David Pérez Karmadavis, Noemi Lakmaier, Liberate Tate, Manu Luksch, Mad for Real (Cai Yuan and Jian Jun Xi), Mitra Saboury, Aaron Williamson.

The screenings will be followed by a discussion with Lawrence Bradby, Rebecca French, Lois Keidan and and some of the featured artists.

The project is supported from Arts Council England, Norwich Arts Centre, Live Art Development Agency and Norfolk County Council.
