The Live Art Development Agency is delighted to announce that we have re-entered Arts Council England’s National Portfolio.
This is the result of the robust organisational work undertaken in the last few months. In early 2024, we will be recruiting a permanent Director whose vision will mark the next chapter of the organisation.
We would like to thank the artists and communities that trusted and supported LADA during this time of crisis.
Robin Deacon, Chair of LADA’s Board, said: ‘The Board of Directors is delighted with the news of LADA’s return to Arts Council England’s National Portfolio. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the LADA patrons for their guidance and counsel, and Arts Council England for their ongoing support. We would also like to thank Interim Director Ria Righteous for her hard work and steadfast commitment to bringing LADA back onto a steady footing. We look forward to working with her and the LADA staff to build toward a strong and sustainable future for this important organisation.’
A spokesperson for Arts Council England said: ‘The Live Art Development Agency has undertaken a significant process of organisational development in the last six months, which has put the company on a much firmer footing for the future. We are therefore delighted to confirm that we will be welcoming LADA back into our National Portfolio of regularly funded organisations. We look forward to working with LADA into the future, helping the organisation champion the development, research and advocacy of Live Art.’
LADA’s Board, Interim Director and staff will continue to work strategically to strengthen the organisation. Our priority is to welcome the public back to our Bethnal Green space and together begin to imagine the future of Live Art and how LADA can better serve it.
Interim Director, Ria Righteous, provides a statement on the her current position with LADA and aims for the organisation’s future.
