The Dinner Party is a selection of essays written about Katherine Araniello's 2011 performance of the same name and is now available to download online.
The Dinner Party performance, a reworking of the television comedy sketch Dinner for One, was not for 'dream guests' or 'women of excellence' but 'guests from hell' based on encounters that the artist has experienced in her own real life.
The Dinner Party publication gives context to the work, and looks at the processes involved in the making of The Dinner Party, as well as the artist’s perspective and thinking behind the performance itself.
Included are three commissioned essays written by Marcia Farquhar, Ella Finer and Lois Keidan with additional text by Katherine Araniello.
The Dinner Party is also available to view in LADA’s Study Room at the White Building in Hackney Wick, London.
