Description
Live Art on Camera showcases the work of photographers who documented a selection of seminal performances from the 1950s to the present in Europe, the United States and Japan and exhibits contemporaneous examples of their practice alongside their performance photographs. Many of these photographers are well known in very different contexts as well as being acknowledged as artists in their own right. Seen in comparison to other works made by the same photographers it becomes clear how the ‘live art’ photographs have been influenced by the conceptual and stylistic particularities and motivations of the individual photographers.
