New Studio Manager at LADA

Ben William Harris joined LADA as Studio Manager in March 2019. As an independent curator, Ben has programmed events and exhibitions at the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA), Chalton Gallery and Painel Gallery, Porto, among others. Ben was previously the Events and Programme Assistant at Gasworks alongside his role as a Public Advisor at the ICA. Graduating with First Class Honours in Culture, Criticism and Curation from Central Saint Martins; Ben has since worked for Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, Block Universe, Kingsgate Workshops and Slate Projects. Ben continues to research performance art, socially engaged eco-practice and is strongly concerned with climate justice.

I am absolutely ecstatic to be joining the whole team here at LADA, a space that embodies difference and diversity. Having personally used the Study Room in order to gain access to the world of Live Art, I cannot wait to now help contribute towards the experimental, resistant and vanguard practices that LADA has consistently facilitated. In a world that is currently facing polarising views, marginalising many artists and communities alike, I believe LADA can herald a model to showcase how academics and activists, individuals and communities, can all work together to make actual positive change.
