New LADA staff announcement
- Date
- Friday 18 Mar 2016
LADA is delighted to announce two new staff members, who will start work in April 2016. These changes follow LADA's current Programmes Manager, Aaron Wright, being appointed Artistic Director at the Fierce Festival, Birmingham.
Megan Vaughan, Programmes Manager
Megan has previously worked in administration and project support for a number of arts organisations, including Manchester Opera House, Metro-Boulot-Dodo, Fierce Festival and Company of Angels, where she has been General Manager. She has a BA in Arts Management from De Montfort University and an MA in Critical and Cultural Theory from the University of Brighton. Alongside her work at LADA, Megan is a blogger and arts journalist, mentoring on several programmes for young and aspiring critics.
The Programmes Manager will work as part of LADA’s team to support and develop LADA’s key public programmes and artist opportunities including the annual DIY artists’ workshop programme; the annual Arthole Artist’s Award; occasional curatorial initiatives and programme partnerships; the Live Art Advisory Network; and other public events, including screening programmes. The Programmes Manager will also support and contribute to LADA’s work with networks, including: Live Art UK, the network of national Live Art promoters; and the Collaborative Arts Partnership Programme, a four-year EU-funded programme exploring socially engaged practices.
Megan says: “I’ve admired LADA for a long time, benefitting directly from the opportunities they provide: from DIY workshops and Study Room sessions, to my discovery of extraordinary and uncompromising artists at their events. I can’t wait to bring my skills to an organisation – and sector – that I have become so fanatical about. Here’s hoping I can build on everything Aaron has done to ensure LADA’s opportunities and networks remain so continuously inventive and responsive.”
Amy Poole, Marketing Coordinator
Amy has a BA in a Performing Arts from the University of Chichester. While there Amy began to make installations and interventions for meditation and personal reflection, which she has carried on creating for BEYOND Church in Brighton. Amy has previously worked in Live Art events and communications for a number of arts organisations and festivals including Siobhan Davies Dance, the City of London Festival, Greenbelt Festival and Artsadmin.
The Marketing Coordinator will work as part of LADA’s team to significantly enhance and develop the public profile, awareness and understanding of LADA’s programmes. This is the first time LADA has employed a fully-dedicated Marketing position, and the Marketing Coordinator’s responsibilities will include developing and enhancing LADA’s marketing and communications processes, systems and planning, to ensure timely and effective marketing and communication activities across multiple programmatic areas, including curated projects, opportunities, publishing, resources, LADA’s networks, and Unbound online shop. The postholder will also contribute to the strategic development of LADA’s marketing and communications.
Amy says: “I feel really fortunate to be undertaking this new position, it's going to be a really exciting opportunity for my own and LADA's development.”
