Join us for an evening of conversation with artist Delaine Le Bas and her long term collaborators Ronke Osinowo and Hḗrā Santos.
The conversation will be structured around performance texts that track histories of their collaboration. It will explore the questions of how does their collaborative process work and how do they navigate the variable spaces they perform in? Soundscapes that Delaine has made in collaboration with Justin Langlands will be integrated into this performative conversation.
Delaine will curate a selection of materials that relate to her practice from the Live Art Research Collection, available to explore on the night.
The event will be a performative conversation with time for Q&A and refreshments will be available.
Presented in the Study Room at LADA this performative conversation is a donate-what-you-can event for LADA. Thanks to Delaine Le Bas, the proceeds from this event go to support LADA’s future creative projects. Your donation means more events like this can be delivered as part of LADA’s annual programme.

Justin Langlands
Justin Langlands has been immersed in music from his childhood, cutting his teeth with various bands during his teens and early twenties. Initially studying to be a graphic designer, he started recording music in his bedroom using a 4-track cassette recorder and then subsequently progressed into studio engineering and music production. He made his mark as a DJ whilst working as Art Editor for the NME, and was part of the Heavy Duty crew, who had a weekly residency at Wag club in Soho, London.
Justin formed Pressure Drop in 1990 with Dave Henley and produced 5 albums together. Justin and Dave also hosted a weekly 2-hour radio programme called the Blood Brothers Broadcasting Corporation (BBBC) playing the sound of the international underground. The show was recorded in London and broadcast weekly from Berlin, Germany on FM and also Europe-wide via the Astra satellite, between 1992 – 1997.
Currently, Justin has his own studio called Brighton Voice Studio from which he composes, records and produces and continues to collaborate with Delaine Le Bas on various exhibitions, including the Turner Prize nominated Incipit Vita Nova. The soundscapes introduce an auditory aspect to Delaine’s exhibitions, which endeavour to enhance the experience and can help deepen the audience’s comprehension of the artwork.

Lincoln Cato is a furniture designer and maker of objects based in Brighton on the South Coast of England. His practice explores the use of traditional materials and techniques combined together in unusual combinations.
