LADA and the Catalyst Programme
- Year
- 2015
Over a two year period, from June 2013 to May 2015, LADA, Artsadmin and Home Live Art worked together as a consortium on a programme of capacity building and fundraising related activities as part of the Art Council England’s Catalyst Programme. The consortium’s programme was underpinned by a focus on ethical fundraising, which included work with Platform addressing each organisation’s cultural values.
LADA’s Catalyst work included internal development activities (including audience research, staff training, and the development of LADA’s Board-approved Ethical Funding Policy), commissioning artists to work with us on exploring ideas and approaches, and public activities which engaged with the opportunities, challenges and complexities of fundraising for Live Art practices. The following links provide more information on these activities:
Take the money and run – an event about art, ethics and funding, a public symposium, in association with Platform.
Working with artists: including DIY projects by They Are Here and Lucy Hutson/Martin O’Brien, and a response to our Catalyst fundraising work by Joshua Sofaer, the Arthole Cockle Medal for Live Art Philanthropy.
Roadtesting new approaches to fundraising: including ALAG: A Live Art Gala, a fundraising film by Kim Noble, a Kickstarter campaign for a publication on the work on Lois Weaver, and Double Your Money with Scottee.
Support for artists: including three Money Talks events, documentation of our public activities noted above, a Fundraising Resource Handbook for artists, and other sharing of our Catalyst outcomes.
