A statement from LADA’s Interim Artistic Director, Ria Righteous

Hello to the LADA community,

It is a great pleasure to be speaking with you all directly as LADA’s current Artistic Director.

I initially accepted the invitation to this interim post with the intention of securing the organisation’s future, primarily through ensuring that LADA’s status as a National Portfolio Organisation would be reinstated. I have worked closely with LADA’s previous Board and Directors and with LADA’s new Board and staff in an effort to secure this and I am delighted that we have succeeded in meeting our aim.

We now have strong intentions to continue this work by building on LADA’s legacy, presence and activity within the field of Live Art. Over 2023-2024, I will be implementing changes within the organisation that align with my initiative ecologies of care, whereby new policies and procedures will be established to ensure best practice across the Board.

We will be releasing news over the next months about our current activities as well as new opportunities for artists to get involved. We look forward to welcoming you back into the Garrett Centre, see you very soon.

Ria Righteous
LADA’s Interim Artistic Director
