LADA welcomes new Interim Artist Development Manager, Tania Camara

We are so pleased to welcome Tania Camara as our new Interim Artist Development Manager.
Tania is a solo performance artist based in Manchester, currently working in the following different mediums:
  • Devised theatre
  • Dance
  • Live Art
  • Video
  • Voice-work
  • Music

Tania’s bio

Tania is a graduate of the University of Amsterdam, with an MA in Artistic Research and a BA in Performing Arts (Theatre & Dance).
To date, she has been selected for and performed at SPILL, Ipswich, National Platform, Oct 2016 & Sprint Festival at CPT, London Big Bang Mar 2018 & Commissioned for Push Festival 2020, HOME Manchester & Awarded NLPG for OREO in 2020. DYCP Recipient, 2021,  SPILL Festival of Performance, 2021. She is currently part of Developed with the Lowry 2022-24 Cohort.
Her artistic focus is to create work that generates conversations about race relations in Britain to tell untold stories and bring marginalised lived experiences to the forefront. Bringing together stories from Cape Verde, Britain, Portugal and Guinea Bissau, she is inspired by her MA research into the traditional dance/music genre Batuku as social performance and its place in the Cape Verdean Revolution as a form of holistic healing.
