Prior to his debut London performance at The Flying Dutchman on April 9, Mexican performance artist Felipe Osornio aka Lechedevirgen Trimegisto presents a screening programme of artists working in the contemporary Latin-American scene in relation to Postporno, gender and sexuality.

Posporno Latino will look at the different approaches of more than fifteen visual artists, video artists, performance artists and others interested in visual creation coming from the space of a “Do It Yourself” philosophy. It will call attention to the artists’ understanding of bodies, sexuality, mass media and political devices that operate on them, from the so-called “third-world” and scenarios of insecurity and marginalization. The screening seeks to question areas of power, menstrual taboo, porno-shamanic reconnection with nature, the use and abuse of pornographic images, and the visual and corporeal deconstruction of sexuality and gender.

The event will include work by acclaimed artists such as Nadia Granados “La Fulminante” and Azael Valderrama of Colombia, Felipe Rivas San Martín and Katia Sepúlveda of Chile, Lothar Müller and Poist Simulakra of Mexico, Frantic Accent and Morgan Ztardust of Argentina, among others.

Felipe Osornio / Lechedevirgen Trimegisto will perform ‘Inferno Varieté’ at The Flying Dutchman, London: Thursday April 9, 8pm. Tickets on door £6.
