The world premiere of a series of international video performances on the theme of ‘Protest Song Competition’

The Performance Voyage series of international video performances created for the camera has been produced annually by Finnish Artists’ Association MUU since 2011.
MUU and London-based artist Heidi Kilpeläinen (HK119) challenged artists to participate in Performance Voyage 7 on the theme of protest songs. Protest songs are typically associated with movements calling for social change, and this ethos comes across strongly in the selection of works for Performance Voyage 7 which reflect current political and social phenomena widely, and defend personal, environmental, political, and philosophical spaces through art.
The selection comprises of 18 works by 18 artists or groups:

Vik Laschenov (Russia): One floor above sing until someone swims with dolphinsAfter the London premiere and a presentation in Dublin on 3 May, Performance Voyage 7 will go on a world tour of 15 locations in Scandinavia, Continental Europe and North America.
Performance Voyage 7 was curated by Heidi Kilpeläinen (artist), Jaakko Nousiainen (Head of Arts & Culture, The Finnish Institute in London) and Timo Soppela (director, MUU).
