Everything you wanted to know about Live Art but were afraid to ask ­a day of information and advice for graduates and emergent artists.

Aimed at graduates and emergent artists across London who are working in Live Art and related performance and time based practices, Everything you wanted to know is a professional development day on how the sector and the system work.

Live Art is an exciting area of practice offering artists new artistic approaches and new creative contexts. But it is also an area of practice without clear signposts or career development paths. Outside educational institutions or other support structures it is often possible for younger artists who are wanting to develop a professional practice to feel bemused and phased.

Everything you wanted to know will offer artists a basic introduction to the lie of the land, a sense of how things work and what's on offer, and a chance to learn from the experience of more established practitioners. Subjects to be addressed include introductions to the System and the Sector, Opportunities and Resources, Collaborations and Convergences, Marketing and Promotion, Training and Research.

Contributors include Franko B, Robert Pacitti, Christine Molloy of desperate optimists, Blast Theory, Lois Weaver, Vanessa Richards of Mannafest, Lois Weaver, Leslie Hill and Helen Paris, Lois Keidan and Daniel Brine of the Live Art Development Agency, Manick Govinda of Artsadmin and Sophie Cameron of the New Work Network.

Everything you wanted to know is an initiative between Queen Mary, University of London and the Live Art Development Agency and is a complementary event to the annual East End Collaborations performance platform for students, graduates and emergent artists across London. Everything you wanted to know is being developed and hosted in collaboration with the New Work Network , the national support organisation for artists working in performance.
