Open Calendar

From September, we are trailing a new way of connecting with artists. 

Open Calendar carves out dedicated time in our teams calendars for meeting artists, sharing our expertise and accessing LADA’s resources.

We are actively developing our work to be more responsive to the emerging ideas and concerns that we learn about through artists and researchers. Open Calendar is a way to design our events, resources and support programmes in direct dialogue with the current and ever-evolving needs, interests and contexts of artists.

Open Calendar slots are open three months in advance, offered on a first come, first served basis.

For artists, Open Calendar offers

  • Creative dialogue on projects and practice.
  • Dialogue about professional development, including demystifying funding, presentation contexts and the administrative side of your practice.
  • An open forum to ask questions about what LADA does and how we support artists.

 

For LADA, Open Calendar offers

  • A chance to meet and stay connected with artists.
  • A way to ensure we are designing our events, professional development and learning programmes in line with artists emerging needs, interests and contexts.
  • An opportunity to share our expertise with more artists.

 

What the Open Calendar is not

  • A pitch for funding, programming or partnership;

Being introduced to or knowing more about your practice, does better equip us to advocate for your work in our own programmes and to our networks – and ensures we are not only doing this for those who have our email addresses. However, Open Calendar is not intended to lead to a specific outcome, or commitment to working together.

  • Free consultancy with artists;

The conversation is led by your questions and how you would like to use the time. Although this creates an opportunity for the LADA team to learn about artistic practices and challenges, we are not asking for free consultation on how LADA should work or programme.

 

Who is eligible to book a session?

Sessions are open to any artists for whom Live Art and/or Performance is either a key part of their practice or something they are curious about developing.
