Description
‘This photo of Site, where I sat naked astride Toynbee Studios for 8 hours over two consecutive days, brings back to me the transformational experience of embodying this action. The work subsequently took up virtual and media space across the world, so it feels important to get back to the state of presence I felt through the immediacy of the cold winter weather and the hard concrete and the loud noise of central London during this fleshy intervention in the built public environment.’
– Poppy Jackson
The performance Site was part of Poppy Jackson’s project Re-Presentation: The Female Body as Autonomous Zone and was presented as part of the SPILL National Showcase 2015. It received extensive press coverage and media attention.
The drawing Site that Poppy Jackson made in 2010, which inspired her roof apex performances, is also part of Pathways Home Collection, as well as a Fine Art Print version of it.
