Description
‘My mother Maz Jackson is an egg-tempera painter, and my father Alistair Jackson was a Hospital Porter who created music and photography. So I grew up captivated by both paint and human physiology, combining these interests in my artwork. Paintings like this work amalgamate inner and outer elements: either anatomical, symbolic or psychological, alluding to my consideration of my body as an autobiographical archive. The “feelers” in this work point up to a channel, opening to the space that is higher or bigger than us that can steer, influence or inspire us creatively.’
