Study Room Ambassador Scheme

The LADA Study Room Ambassador scheme was set up to enhance Study Room access and development for the public whilst providing Ambassadors with space, time and other support for independent research in the Study Room.

The Study Room is a free, open access research facility in Hackney Wick, London, containing over 7,000 catalogued books, DVDs, documents, journals and digital files related to Live Art theory and practice.

Following an open call for applications selected Study Room Ambassadors have independent use of the Study Room and are able to use the space for meetings and appropriate public events around their research. In return, they are Study Room key holders and are responsible for opening and closing the premises on pre-arranged dates and times outside normal LADA opening hours. This enables the Study Room to be available to other artists, curators, researchers and members of public in the evenings and weekends.

Recent Ambassador led public projects have included Gut Reactions with Phoebe Patey-Ferguson, The Moral Panic Art Club with Itziar Bilbao Urrutia and Decolonial Actions with Marina Barsy and Leo Kay.

Current LADA Study Room Ambassadors: Itziar Bilbao Urrutia, Leo Kay, Phoebe Patey-Ferguson, Katy Baird and Tara Fayehi Irani.

Past Ambassadors: Caroline Williams, Marina Barsy, Leah Lovett and Finn Love.
