We are very pleased to announce Lois Weaver and Neil Bartlett as new Patrons of the Live Art Development Agency.
Both are well renowned and celebrated performance makers, creating work across recent decades and have long and important relationships with LADA.
In 2015 we co-published with Intellect Books, as part of the Intellect Live series, The Only Way Home is Through the Show: Performance Work of Lois Weaver , and Lois has been one of our researchers in residents for Restock, Rethink, Reflect 4 (RRR4) On Live Art and Privilege. Lois' residency explored Live Art practices and methodologies in relation to working with older individuals and communities and has generated the guide Know How and a toolkit of Action Recipes.
In July 2017 we worked with Tate Britain to present Neil's performance A Vision of Love Revealed in Sleep as part of Queer British Art 1861–1967. The film of the documentation and post show talk have been featured in our LADA Screens programme (17 August – 17 October 2017). Neil was also interviewed for Hugo Glendinning and Alex Eisenberg's 'A Film about Performance Magazine', a short documentary that maps the magazine's history as part of Performance Magazine Online.
“LADA gets up early and stays up late in order to enable, educate and support each and every one of the artists and audiences it works with. I am proud to be a Patron of such a genuinely creative outfit.” – Neil Bartlett
