About Us

The Live Art Development Agency works to support and develop the Live Art sector, its practices, discourses, infrastructure and audiences.

The Live Art Development Agency offers Resources, Professional Development Initiatives, and Projects for the support and development of Live Art practices, and critical discourses in the UK and internationally.

The Agency is committed to supporting the high risk artists, practices and ideas of contemporary culture and particularly the practices of emerging artists, and artists from culturally diverse backgrounds.

The Agency’s three key areas of activity - resources, professional development, and projects and initiatives - are informed by the guiding principles of working strategically, in partnership, and in consultation.

Staff

The Live Art Development Agency was set up by Lois Keidan and Catherine Ugwu in 1999, and Lois Keidan has been the Director ever since. From 2001 to 2008 Daniel Brine was Associate Director. Andrew Mitchelson joined the Agency in 2006 as Company and Resource Manager and is now Projects Manager. CJ Mitchell took up the new post of Deputy Director in May 2009. Season Butler joined the Agency as Administrator in January 2010. We often work with freelance project directors who are responsible for delivering specific Agency projects.

Organization

The Live Art Development Agency is a small independent organisation, responsible to a Board of Directors. The Agency established a list of Patrons in 2010. We are based in Rochelle School on Arnold Circus in Shoreditch, East London.

The Live Art Development Agency is a Company Limited by Guarantee, Registered in England and Wales, number 3651554.

The Live Art Development Agency is a Registered Charity No. 1079943.

The Live Art Development Agency regularly funded client of Arts Council England, London.
